Planting Seeds of Hope

Greetings from the Farm,Little Humans are Seeds of Hope : This week the Farm is engaging the next generation via Camp Willowsford and by the close of the week, the Farm will have hosted 88 children ages 5 – 13. Each of whom spent time with the Farm team learning passively and actively about the importance of each of our Farm initiatives. They learned the importance of cover crops, bees, rotational grazing, how resilience through soil health is important to combat drought and heavy rain – but most importantly they shared time getting to know their fellow little human neighbors.

To demonstrate our impact : today during our wagon ride Farm tour a repeat camper was easily able to identify what a cover crop was and why it’s important for soil health. And while her insight is advanced for her age (truly, D!), it’s these types of experiences that plant seeds of hope. Some might say, how / why do I contribute to the Farm and the answer is simple. We provide more than tasty carrots and pasture raised eggs – every dollar allocated to our effort plants a seed of hope that provides a greater opportunity for a more resilient environment & community. In the short-run – the carrots + eggs are freaking nutritious & tasty!

Help us plant seeds of hope : Join us for one of our upcoming programs or volunteer alongside us. Upcoming happenings include: Wagon Ride Farm Tours, Community Egg Collection, Environmental Based Field Games, Packing CSA Shares, Distributing Shares, and more. Visit the Conservancy Events, Instagram or Facebook pages for details.
