Greetings from the Farm,There’s just a bit of time left before the major winter holidays! Things are frosty and it appears that tomorrow will feature some inclement weather, so please don’t forget to bundle up when you come to pick up your share! This will be the only CSA share distribution in December, so you won’t have to pick up a share during the busy holiday week. The Online Farm Store will reopen on December 28 for ordering with fulfillment Jan. 4/5. The Farm team wishes you a warm and bright holiday season!
This Weeks Cycle: There will be CSA share pick up today at the Boathouse and Farm Stand from 4pm-6pm. Today (Dec 14) is delivery day for our members South of Route 50 and tomorrow (Dec 15) will be the delivery day for our members North of Route 50.
Winter Hiatus: There will be no CSA distribution the week of December 25th, and the Online Farm Store will not be open next week. The Farm Newsletter will announce the Online Farm store opening on December 28!
Crop Failure: If you were looking forward to Brussels Sprouts in the Farmer’s Choice this week, we apologize – they will not be included. Our partner, the Lancaster Co-Op, had a crop failure and were unable to fulfill our entire order. If you ordered Brussels Sprouts a la carte, you will still receive them with your order.
Getting Laid Everyday: With the nights getting long, our flock of hens is still going strong! We have an abundance of farm-fresh eggs and as a special holiday treat, we’ll be including a free dozen eggs in every Farmer’s Choice share! After the first crack, you’ll never go back, and we encourage you to sign up for a 2023 Egg share so that store-bought eggs become a fling of the past. If you don’t include eggs in your diet, please consider spreading some holiday cheer to a neighbor or friend!
Holiday Pies: If you ordered a holiday pie, quiche or apple spice bread for our special pie pickup, it will not be included with your regular CSA fulfillment or a la carte order. The pick up date for these items will be this Saturday, December 17! You will receive an email with more details about the time and place shortly. Hot and Ready: KT Pizza will be at the Boathouse today (Dec 14) from 4pm-6pm during share pick up, if you’d like to come and taste their delicious offerings. They will not be joining us tomorrow in the Farm Stand parking lot due to weather concerns, so swing by today to show your support!
