Growing Food For Our Community

Here at Willowsford Farm, we believe that everyone deserves access to fresh, healthy food.

Beyond growing for our CSA members and Farm Stand customers, we are committed to feeding our broader community — ensuring that our harvest supports local families in need. Through partnerships, donations, volunteer support, and creative food recovery, the Farm works hand-in-hand with local hunger relief organizations to make a meaningful impact right here in Loudoun County.

Our Impact

Since 2021, Willowsford Farm has donated more than 30,000 pounds of vegetables and eggs to the Dulles South Food Pantry (DSFP), Loudoun Hunger Relief, and Mobile Hope.

  • 11,167 pounds donated in 2024
  • CSA members can choose to donate their shares when away, turning every missed pickup into a meal for a neighbor
  • Bread recycling: DSFP volunteers deliver unsold bread each week, which the Farm recycles into supplemental feed for our laying hens — reducing food waste while supporting regenerative practices

These ongoing efforts laid the foundation for an expanded initiative: the Willowsford Farm Food Access Fund.

Introducing the Food Access Fund

To grow this work, we established the Willowsford Farm Food Access Fund. This fund allows us to expand the amount of fresh food we are able to grow, harvest, and distribute to local hunger relief partners — while ensuring that our efforts are sustainable and responsive to community need.

Working closely with partners like the Dulles South Food Pantry, we are able to grow produce that is specifically requested and most needed by the community.

Every dollar donated helps us grow, harvest, and donate fresh food locally.

Building on Our Impact

Our current work builds on a strong foundation developed in partnership with the Dulles South Food Pantry.

Prior to becoming a 501(c)(3), we supported food donations through a collaborative produce fund, raising more than $12,800 in 2025 to help provide fresh, locally grown food to families in need.

These efforts enabled consistent, year-round donations — averaging approximately 500 pounds of produce each month — while helping our partners expand their ability to serve the community.

Today, through the Willowsford Farm Food Access Fund, we are able to lead this work directly and expand our impact across Loudoun County.

In 2026, we are working to grow this effort further, increasing both the amount of food we donate and the number of community partners we serve. If you are interested in partnering with us, please reach out to us at farm@willowsfordfarm.com.

Why It Matters

Access to fresh, locally grown food is essential for community health.

Through this work, we are able to:

  • Provide high-quality, nutrient-dense produce

  • Support local hunger relief organizations

  • Reduce food waste and strengthen sustainable systems

  • Connect agriculture with community well-being

Together, we are transforming local agriculture into local relief — one harvest at a time.
