Applications are now being accepted for the second annual Wine Down for a Cause, taking place on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 5:00–7:30 p.m. at the Willowsford Farm Stand (23595 Founders Drive, Ashburn, VA 20148).

Hosted by Willowsford Farm in partnership with Stroll Willowsford, Wine Down for a Cause brings together local wineries, food trucks, live music, and the community for an evening at the Farm. We are seeking approximately eight wineries to participate in this year’s event, offering tastings and introducing their wines and other products to new and returning customers.

Wine Down for a Cause is a fundraiser supporting Willowsford Farm’s food access partnership with Dulles South Food Pantry (DSFP). Funds raised through the event, which includes a silent auction, will help support the Farm’s efforts to grow and donate fresh, certified organic produce directly to DSFP, expanding access to fresh, locally grown food for families in our community.

Participating wineries will have the opportunity to provide tastings and sell bottles during the event (for consumption on site or at home). There is no vendor fee to participate. Selected beverage partners will be required to contribute an item or experience to support the fundraiser and meet the participation and setup requirements outlined in the application below.

Space is limited, and submission of an application does not guarantee participation. Space is limited to eight participating wineries. Applications will be reviewed after the deadline, with selections made to create a diverse mix of participating wineries and wine offerings.

We will provide our Nonprofit Banquet Special Event license number to selected participants as soon as it is available.

As part of participation in Wine Down for a Cause, each selected winery is required to donate an item or experience to support the fundraiser. Donations may include wine, a wine package, tasting experience, winery tour, gift certificate, merchandise, or another item or experience.

Participant Setup & Event Information

Willowsford Farm will provide the following for participating beverage partners and event attendees:

  • One commemorative Wine Down for a Cause wine glass for each adult attendee
  • Additional plastic tasting cups, if needed
  • Ice for beverage service
  • Wi-Fi hotspot access
  • Event-wide lighting
  • Trash and recycling service

Participating beverage partners are responsible for bringing:

  • 10' x 10' tent or mobile tasting setup
  • Table and chairs
  • Wine or other approved beverages for tasting
  • Coolers, tubs, or other containers for ice and chilling products
  • Business signage and display materials
  • Point-of-sale equipment for permitted onsite sales
  • Any other equipment or supplies needed to operate their tasting station

Event Schedule

  • Vendor arrival and setup: 3:30–4:30 p.m.
  • All tasting stations completely set up and ready for guests: 4:30 p.m.
  • Wine Down for a Cause: 5:00–7:30 p.m.
  • Breakdown begins: 7:30 p.m.

Participating beverage partners are expected to remain set up through the conclusion of the event and may not begin breaking down before 7:30 p.m.

Set Up Commitment

Marketing & Promotion

Willowsford Farm will promote Wine Down for a Cause and participating beverage partners through event marketing, which may include email newsletters, social media, event webpages, flyers, and partner communications. We will also provide participating beverage partners with event graphics and information that can be shared through their own marketing channels.

We ask that all participating beverage partners help promote Wine Down for a Cause through their available social media, email, and other customer communications.
