Welcome! We’re Glad You’re Here!

Welcome To The Farm-ily!

Willowsford is one of the leading Agrihoods in the country. Our Farm is the product of over a decade of commitment, passion and innovative design that integrates farming and nature into how we live. We believe healthy people and healthy land can coexist symbiotically in a working landscape.

We think facilitating engaging experiences is the best way to cultivate lifestyles that have a positive impact on humans and the environment alike. We do this by selling fresh and intentionally grown food; by hosting events, cooking classes; and through joyful educational activities to get kids and adults to the Farm, and into the kitchen.

We aren’t just online! Willowsford Farm hosts a retail Farm Stand from mid-May through the end of October! The Farm Stand is a great place to shop local, grab a quick bite from our food truck partners, pick up a sweet treat and meet your neighbors! The 2024 Farm Stand opening is Thursday, May 16th from 4 – 7 PM. Regular season hours are Thursdays from 4 – 7 PM and Saturdays from 9 AM – 1 PM unless otherwise stated.

Thank you so much for joining the Farm-ily, we look forward to bringing you Farm-fresh food soon!

Growing Resilience

Soil is the foundation of farming. To improve soil health is to strengthen our Farm’s resilience – the two are intertwined.

We build soil by using cover crops, crop rotations, compost, and natural rock amendments, grazing and minimum tillage strategies. These are the keys to maintaining good soil fertility and to growing crops that are full of nutrients and flavor. These practices also help us manage weeds, pests, and disease on the farm. Our goal is to create a resilient, self-nourishing cycle that replenishes its own nutrients and organic matter and provides for its own weed and pest control.

Meet the Farm Team

Willowsford Farm is directed by Andrew Dunham and three dedicated full-time staff members who collectively have more than 50 years of organic growing experience.

In addition to managing the Farm, the crew is dedicated to engaging the collective Agrihood community and involving them in Farm focused programs. Learn more about the team, here.

Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions, we have answers! Here are some quick Willowsford Farm FAQs:

Is everything from Willowsford Farm organic?
While all produce grown on the Farm is certified organic, not all products available for sale are organic. If we bring in any vegetables from one of our partner farms, we prioritize organic but cannot guarantee based on the availability of our partners. We partner with Beechwood Orchard for fruit, who uses Integrated Pest Management strategies and other farms to supplement what we offer on the Online Farm Store. In addition, some of our add-on products such as baked goods, cheeses and non-perishables are not certified organic. Please check the item description or email farm@willowsfordfarm.com if you have questions about a specific product.

Something came up and I can’t pick up my order, what should I do?
Did you know that the Farm donates CSA shares that aren’t picked up to the Dulles South Food Pantry? Yep! In 2023 we donated over 5,000 pounds. You can also buy a lot of goodwill with your neighbors or friends by offering them your share for the week. Any designated person can pick up your order – just have them mention your name at pickup. You can also make arrangements with the Farm to pick it up at another time

I signed up for a CSA share but will be traveling this summer. How do I skip a week?
If need need to make adjustments to your regular pickup or delivery schedule, please reach out via email to farm@willowsfordfarm.com. We can help with any changes you may need. The sooner we hear from you the better! We try to provide as much flexibility as possible, but most last minute requests are handled on a case-by-case basis and we cannot guarantee day-of changes.
