Investing in place-based impact in Loudoun County
At Willowsford Conservancy & Farm, we steward more than 2,600 acres in Aldie and Ashburn in Loudoun County, where protected land, working farmland, wildlife habitat, and growing communities meet.
As eastern Loudoun County continues to grow, we work to ensure that conservation, community health, and environmental education grow alongside it. We partner with a small group of organizations each year that are interested in supporting meaningful, place-based impact in the communities where they operate.
Help support our efforts through projects such as:
- removing invasive plants
- restoring a riparian corridor
- planting trees
- creating a wildflower meadow
Our Approach
Our work is centered on three integrated areas:
Environmental Stewardship

Habitat restoration, invasive species management, riparian corridor restoration, and long-term land care across conserved landscapes.
This work helps maintain healthy ecosystems, improve water quality, and protect critical wildlife habitat as eastern Loudoun County continues to grow.

Education & Community Engagement

The Conservancy and Farm serve as a living classroom for students and the broader community.
Programs include:
- Hands-on environmental education for Loudoun County students
- Farm-based education connecting people to agriculture and local food systems
- Ecosystem and watershed studies, including Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs)
- Citizen science initiatives such as stream monitoring and wildlife observation
Food Access

Growing and donating fresh produce through the Willowsford Farm Food Access Fund, supporting local hunger relief partners.
This work expands access to fresh, locally grown food while connecting agriculture and community well-being.
Donations support purchasing seeds, growing and harvesting, and then distributing vegetables requested by our partners, such as beets, daikon radish, okra, spinach, and kale. You can also volunteer to join us on the Farm to harvest and pack vegetables for our food access partners.
Measurable Impact
Corporate partners help support outcomes such as:
- Thousands of pounds of fresh food donated locally each year
- Expanded hands-on environmental education for Loudoun County students
- Visible habitat restoration and tree planting efforts
- Invasive species management across conserved lands
- Expanded citizen science and community engagement programs
Employee Engagemnt
We offer opportunities for employee engagement that connect teams directly to the land and community, including:
- Habitat restoration projects
- Tree planting
- Farm volunteer days
- Community service opportunities
