This native is a hummingbird’s favorite, providing nectar from mid-summer to early fall. Flowers emerge from the stiff upright stems and the leaves have an excellent resistance to powdery mildew even on the hottest and humid days of summer. Provide water at base of plant and avoid overhead watering when getting established as this plant requires good air circulation.
