Guided Bird Walk
February 3 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am
| FreeJoin Willowsford Conservancy staff and birding enthusiast Scott Harris for a guided Bird Walk! As part of this walk we’ll pass through some of the Conservancy’s forests, wetlands, and grasslands, which offer great habitat for a diversity of bird species. Whether you are a seasoned birder or a curious beginner, this bird walk is suitable for all and open to the public.
Leading this this walk is Scott Harris. Scott has been birding since he was a child growing up in Germany. Today, he’s the founder and general manager of Catoctin Creek Distillery in Purcellville, Virginia, but in his free-time, he is an amateur birding enthusiast, with over 744 species on his life-list. Scott also serves on the board of the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy.
Attendees should bring binoculars if you have them (we will have a few extra pairs for sharing) and should dress appropriately for the winter weather. Warm layers and sturdy footwear are strongly suggested. Winter is an excellent time for bird watching and birds will still be active even in cold or snowy weather.
Attendees will meet at the trailhead located at 25359 Grassland Grove Drive in Aldie, VA.
