Last Week for Off-Season Retail!

Greetings from the Farm,With a rainy weekend ahead, preparations for the launch of the 2023 CSA are going strong. The Farm team is hard at work transplanting and weeding (check out the photos of the gorgeous herb beds below) to make sure everything is ready for May 18th! If you signed up for an Every Other Week share, you will be assigned your A week or B week grouping in the coming week. This communication will be sent out via email with your fulfilment dates and any needed adjustments for summer travel can be addressed. We’re excited to get this season underway soon and we hope you are too!

Off-Season into On-Season: As we gear up for the start of the Summer CSA, this is the final weekend for the Off-Season Retail program! You still have until Friday, April 28th at 3pm to place your order for pickup on Saturday, April 29th. We had strong participation throughout the program and intend to offer a similar program next year. Thank you to everyone who supported the Farm through the program and we’ll see you for the 2023 Summer Season!

Egg FOMO?: We may have sold out of Egg Shares for the 2023 Summer season, but we will still be offering limited a la carte sales during the CSA. In addition, we will have eggs for sale at the Farm Stand in the Grange. A la carte and Farm Stand eggs will be available on a first-come first-serve basis, so please be aware that we may sell out from time to time. If you don’t want to miss out next year, we recommend signing up for the Summer CSA program early to lock in your shares for 2024.

The Farmer Says…

Need a new content recommendation? Binged through your backlog of podcasts already or looking for something new to explore? The Farm Team has you covered! We love podcasts of all kinds and this week Farmer Eric says… 99% Invisible!

From their website, 99% Invisible is a sound-rich, narrative podcast hosted by Roman Mars about all the thought that goes into the things we don’t think about — the unnoticed architecture and design that shape our world. But if listening isn’t your thing, each episode has a print companion piece and 99pi also has a book titled The 99% Invisible City which hit the New York Times Best-Seller list the week of its release.

A recent episode, The Wilderness Tool, deep dives into vintage crosscut saws and how they are still used today for trail building and maintenance – great Conservancy crossover for us!

Photos From the Farm

Photos :  We’ve got a lot of green this week, especially in the Greenhouse! Beautiful summer squashes and cucumbers, and some more sprouts behind them! The chard is going strong in one of the high tunnels, the second tunnel is filled with tomatoes (a CSA favorite) and in the last photo…the herb bed! You can see sage, thyme, garlic chives and more…yum!
