Greetings from the Farm,Raising Volunteers : By the close of this week, we will have had the pleasure of hosting 97 (wowza!) additional little humans on the Farm via Camp Willowsford. The theme this week was centered around all thing’s chickens. Each camper was able to see the various steps the Farm team and egg washing volunteers go through, providing each a better understanding and appreciation of how a Farm fresh egg lands on their table.
The group yesterday was so enthusiastic that several of them asked if they could come back and volunteer – and of course we replied with an enthusiastic YES! And while we did not intend for this outcome today, we are pleased the children brought the idea forward. Learning the value of volunteerism at an early age has so many lifelong positive effects – it increases their support network by connecting with their community, increases self-confidence knowing they can make a difference, and instills the value of helping others. It’s a win-win all around!
Farm Stand @ The Boat House : Thursday, August 11 from 4 – 6 PM join us at the Willowsford Boat House! In addition to Farm fresh veggies there will be partner meat, cheese, ice cream, dry goods and a food truck! Check out our events page for more details.

Sweet Jo Jo – there are some kids that are naturally drawn to the Farm, including this little human, Jo Jo. During the wagon ride she sweetly crafted a note and picture and gave it to us upon departure.
