Here at Willowsford Farm, we believe that everyone deserves access to fresh, healthy food. Beyond growing for our CSA members and Farm Stand customers, we’re committed to feeding our broader community — ensuring that our harvest supports local families in need. Through donations, partnerships, fundraising events, and creative food recovery, the Farm works hand-in-hand with local hunger-relief organizations to make a meaningful impact right here in Loudoun County.

Since 2021, Willowsford Farm has donated more than 30,000 pounds of vegetables and eggs to the Dulles South Food Pantry (DSFP), Loudoun Hunger Relief, and Mobile Hope.

  • 11,167 pounds donated in 2024
  • CSA members can choose to donate their shares when away, turning every missed pickup into a meal for a neighbor
  • Bread recycling: DSFP volunteers deliver unsold bread each week, which the Farm recycles into supplemental feed for our laying hens — reducing food waste while supporting regenerative practices

These ongoing efforts laid the foundation for a new partnership: the Willowsford Farm Produce Fund.

About the Willowsford Farm Produce Fund

To meet this growing need, Willowsford Farm and DSFP partnered in October 2025 to create the Willowsford Farm Produce Fund — a year-round initiative ensuring that families in need have access to fresh, locally grown, organic food. Willowsford Farm takes the lead on fundraising for the fund and 100% of every dollar donated to the fund is then used by DSFP to purchase vegetables from Willowsford Farm at wholesale rates. DSFP has been able to share the vegetables most requested by their guests so the Farm has been able to plan for that demand this fall/winter and again for the spring/summer growing season in 2026.

What are the benefits of the Produce Fund?

The Willowsford Farm Produce Fund offers many benefits which multiply the impact and reach of each dollar donated.

  • Donors get a tax deduction since DSFP is a 501c3 organization. 100% of donated funds go towards purchasing vegetables.

  • Willowsford Farm expands its revenue with minimal cost and impacts on labor.

  • DSFP receives additional funds and purchases produce from the Farm at a wholesale rate (so discounted against the supermarket – where they typically have to go to supplement their donations). This, in turn, frees up their existing annual produce budget to purchase other items needed by their guests.

  • DSFP also receives high-quality product from the Farm that requires minimal processing time from their volunteers (who have to spend valuable time sorting through donations from the supermarket).

Together, we’re transforming local agriculture into local relief — one harvest at a time. We hope you will consider supporting this effort.

How You Can Help

Your tax-deductible donation to the Willowsford Farm Produce Fund directly supports DSFP’s purchase of organic vegetables from Willowsford Farm. Every contribution helps provide more fresh, healthy food to families impacted by the government shutdown and SNAP funding delays. Our goal for 2025 is to raise $15,000 and our goal for 2026 is $26,000! Our fundraising efforts so far in 2025 have enabled DSFP to place several weekly orders providing hundreds of pounds of beets, daikon radishes, and spinach to their guests.

Your gift — large or small — has an immediate impact on food security in our community and helps sustain this vital partnership this season and next. 100% of each donation goes directly to DSFP and they can use the funds that week to place an order with us.

In October 2025, Willowsford Farm and the Conservancy hosted our first fundraiser for the Willowsford Farm Produce Fund — Wine Down for a Cause — raising more than $5,400 to support the Dulles South Food Pantry. Building on that success, we plan to hold quarterly fundraising events, both small and large, that bring our community together in support of local food access and sustainability. Your participation in these events helps us extend our impact throughout the year
