Trustees serve as the governing body of Willowsford Conservancy, guiding its overall direction and budget priorities following the organization’s Strategic Plan and the requirements of the Community Covenant.

Serving as a Trustee is a significant time commitment, requiring several hours per month, including attendance at meetings throughout the year. There are at least four in-person Board meetings, two joint meetings with the HOA board, several additional committees and discussion meetings, as well as volunteer expectations at events and gatherings.

The Board consists of seven members as outlined in the Conservancy’s by-laws, with four members serving as officers. The by-laws also outline that new Board members are to be appointed by current Board members following an application and discussion process with prospective candidates.

2025 Applications

The Board is currently seeking at least two new members to fill terms that will expire in May 2026. We are seeking specific knowledge, skills and abilities in candidates. We encourage anyone to apply, but will prioritize for the following areas of need (in no particular order):

  • Leadership experience in a setting with multiple stakeholders and complex operations, such as small business owners who are familiar with the rhythms and strategies of short-term and long-term business planning and operational needs.
  • Experience with 501(c)4 and 501(c)3 operations, preferably as a CEO/executive director, an operations or finance leadership role (such as COO or CFO), or as a board member.
  • Legal background, including local land use issues.
  • Government leadership positions.
  • Expertise in local real estate market.
  • Fundraising and revenue-generating experience, preferably in areas aligned with or adjacent to the Conservancy’s mission.
  • Communications experience, including marketing, strategic comms and digital platforms.

We strongly encourage applicants from all four Villages to provide balanced representation, but our main priority is focused on the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above.
