Lemon Verbena Iced Tea

Serves 6


1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup lemon verbena leaves
6 cups brewed tea, chilled
lemon verbena leaves, for garnish
lemon wedges, for garnish

  1. Combine the water, sugar and lemon verbena leaves in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer until the sugar is dissolved. Steep (off the heat) for 5 minutes before straining. Cool. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  2. Serve the tea and lemon verbena sugar syrup to taste in a tall glass over ice. Garnish with lemon verbena leaves and lemon wedges.

For Minted Iced Tea: Substitute your favorite variety of mint leaves for lemon verbena leaves.
