Classic Creamy Coleslaw

Pineapple juice gives this coleslaw a sweet, fruity flavor. Make it a day ahead of time so the cabbage has a chance to soften. Serve it with your favorite barbecue food.


1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons unsweetened pineapple juice
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
8 cups green cabbage, quartered, cored, and shredded
1 medium carrot, shredded

  1. In a large bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, pineapple juice, sugar, salt and pepper and mix well.
  2. Add the cabbage and carrot and toss it with the dressing.
  3. Refrigerate for at least two hours or overnight before serving.
