Nature Lens: Willowsford Conservancy Photo Contest

No matter where we are nature is present.  Our life is entwined with its beautiful rhythms, seasons, and sights.

Willowsford residents are surrounded by unique and ever-changing natural settings each day. To showcase nature in Willowsford, all residents are invited to participate in a photography project that spotlights our community’s shared experience. To thank residents for their participation, we’ll have exciting prizes during each entry period or season! See below for the themes for each season:

Summer 2020

Guidelines

1. Who Should Enter? This photo contest is open to Willowsford residents of all skill levels and ages.
2. What to Enter? We are seeking photographs that highlight the awesome beauty of Willowsford wildlife, plant life and landscapes, and the joy we derive from it. To qualify, photographs must be taken at Willowsford.
3. Residents may submit up to 10 photos per season following the set themes. Seasons are:
   • July 1, 2020 – August 31, 2020
   • September 1, 2020 – November 30, 2020
   • December 1, 2020 – February 28, 2021
   • March 1, 2021 – May 31, 2021
4.  Photos must be submitted to [email protected] between the first and last day of the entry periods.   
5. Please include photographer’s first and last name, age (‘16 and older’; or ‘under 16’), Willowsford village of residence, and general location and brief description of submitted photo(s).
6. Please submit high res photos between 1-2 MB in size.
7. Photos should not include images of other individuals without their permission.
8. Up to 20 photos per entry period will be chosen by Conservancy staff and/or board to be showcased on the Conservancy’s website/blog, weekly e-newsletter and social media platforms. Two of the previously showcased photos will be featured in the Willowsford Life printed magazine.
9. Each season, all participants who submit photos will be eligible to win a Conservancy prize. Prizes may include, but are not limited to: Conservancy logo items, Farm products, program registrations, venue rentals; five winners will be randomly chosen from each entry period. A resident may not win more than twice in a yearly period.
10. Participants can receive up to 5 extra entries per entry period by posting images on Facebook and tagging the Conservancy account. Participants must also send the images to [email protected] as stated in previous guidelines.
11. All photos remain the property of the photographer. The Conservancy reserves the right to use photos with credit in other publications and platforms in addition to the ones listed above. Willowsford Conservancy is not responsible for residents and nonresidents accessing, downloading and/or sharing photos published on public platforms.

Please note: Images submitted must not be obtained by disturbing wildlife or damaging the environment. This includes relocating and disturbing nests, feeding or handling wildlife, or disturbing or destroying habitat.
