Goings On

In the Farm Garden

Folks always ask us, “What can we pick today?” when the visit the Farm Stand and look at the garden beds around it.

This week, we are seeing the first blueberries ripen and we are trying to get to them before the birds do! Please send the kids out with half-pints to forage for them.

Our earliest blackberries are already moving from flowers to berries, so we will see them in the coming weeks too.

But beyond the berries, we have loads of edible flowers and herbs coming in. Check out the signs at the ends of each bed for pricing and identification. You can expect to find: Nasturtium, Borage, Calendula, Bachelors Buttons, Oregano, Thyme, Lavender, Sage, Garlic Chives, Mint, Lemon Balm, Tarragon, Savory, Cilantro (limited), Basil (limited) and the last of the Lovage.

Pick-Your-Own flowers will be open as soon as our plants get to maturity. We have zinnias, cosmos, asters, celosia and mexican purple sage in the ground now. Soon we will seed and plant sunflowers too!
