DESCRIPTION:It’s time again for one of our favorite events of the year—our Community Bonfire and Camp Over! Join us for an evening of memory-making alongside neighbors and Conservancy staff at the Hidden Meadow in The Greens. This year marks the 12th anniversary of this beloved Willowsford tradition\, and we’re keeping it classic with a delicious BBQ dinner and live music. Last year’s Glow Party was a hit and we are bringing it back featuring light-up and glow-in-the-dark fun for all ages! We’ll have fun games and activities to enjoy as the sun goes down before our glow party lights up the night! \nDon’t wait—this event sells out quickly\, so grab your tickets today! \nWhen: Saturday\, September 19th at 6 PM with live music\, food\, and more fun until 9:30 PM. Our rain date is September 26th \nWhere: Hidden Meadow Event Field in The Greens\, 41145 Shasta Daisy Court\, Aldie\, VA 20105\nYour Registration Includes: Dinner from Willard’s BBQ including sides\, beverages\, and dessert.  Vegetarian dinner options will be available. \nBreakfast Sunday\, September 20th: Anyone camping over will be treated to coffee\, tea and breakfast snacks.\nArrival Time: You’re welcome to setup your camp site as early as 2 PM on September 19th\nDirections: From Grassland Grove Drive\, turn onto Tulip Poplar Place. SUMMARY:Willowsford Invasive Removal Work Session
DESCRIPTION:Interested in conservation\, invasive species management\, or spending time outdoors? Join the Willowsford Conservancy\, in partnership with Loudoun Invasive Removal Alliance (LIRA)\, for a series of Invasive Removal Work Sessions this September to help improve the Conservancy’s natural areas. \nVolunteer activities may include: \n\nidentifying and documenting invasive plants\ntreating Tree of Heaven and other invasive plants using Hack-and-Squirt\, Drill and Pour\, or Cut-Stump methods\nhand pulling invasive plants and vines\nmeasuring\, tagging\, and documenting treated plants for future monitoring\n\nNo experience is necessary — each session will begin with instruction on identifying target species\, primarily focusing on Tree of Heaven or Autumn Olive\, and safely using the methods planned for that location. \nHerbicide Treatment: Adult volunteers may choose to participate in targeted herbicide treatments. The Conservancy will provide instruction\, hand tools\, herbicide\, application equipment\, and required PPE (safety glasses and gloves). You do not have to handle herbicides to participate — there are plenty of other ways to help! \nSign up for one Friday or join us every Friday. You do not need to attend the entire series. \nFRIDAY\, SEPT 25 – We will meet at the intersection of Florina Court and Everfield Drive in Stone Ridge (The Grant) \nVolunteers should wear long pants\, long sleeves\, sturdy closed-toe shoes\, and weather-appropriate clothing\, and bring water.
