SUMMARY:DMP Trail Closures: The Greens\, The Grant\, and The Grove
DESCRIPTION:Please be aware of temporary trail closures in The Greens and Grant trails and The Grove Pinewoods Loop Trail due to the Willowsford Conservancy Deer Management Program. These closures help ensure the safety of residents while firearms wildlife management activities are underway. Trail users must observe all closure signs. Trails remain open outside of these dates. \nClosure Dates: \n\nMonday – Friday\, November 2–6\, 2026 – Trails reopen Friday evening\, November 6\nSaturday – Wednesday\, November 14–18\, 2026 – Trails reopen Monday\, November 19\nMonday – Friday\, November 30- December 4\, 2026 – Trails reopen Friday evening\, December 4\nWednesday – Sunday\, December 16–20\, 2026 – Trails reopen Monday\, December 21\n\nAll trails within Firearm hunting zones will be chained and posted closed during firearms hunting periods in all Villages. Accommodation will be provided to residents by keeping sections of trails open for residents use during these periods. Maps of these trails will be available on-line at the Conservancy and HOA website. The Archery Range is CLOSED. Join the Willowsford Conservancy\, in partnership with Loudoun Invasive Removal Alliance (LIRA)\, for a series of Invasive Removal Work Sessions this September to help improve the Conservancy’s natural areas. \nVolunteer activities may include: \n\nidentifying and documenting invasive plants\ntreating Tree of Heaven and other invasive plants using Hack-and-Squirt\, Drill and Pour\, or Cut-Stump methods\nhand pulling invasive plants and vines\nmeasuring\, tagging\, and documenting treated plants for future monitoring\n\nNo experience is necessary — each session will begin with instruction on identifying target species\, primarily focusing on Tree of Heaven or Autumn Olive\, and safely using the methods planned for that location. \nHerbicide Treatment: Adult volunteers may choose to participate in targeted herbicide treatments. The Conservancy will provide instruction\, hand tools\, herbicide\, application equipment\, and required PPE (safety glasses and gloves). You do not have to handle herbicides to participate — there are plenty of other ways to help! \nSign up for one Friday or join us every Friday. You do not need to attend the entire series. \nVolunteers should wear long pants\, long sleeves\, sturdy closed-toe shoes\, and weather-appropriate clothing\, and bring water.
