DESCRIPTION:   \nLet nature be thy teacher. -William Wordsworth \nThe new year is the perfect time to get outside and explore our beautiful Willowsford neighborhood! \nJoin us to learn about how nature journaling can relieve stress\, stretch your mind\, and help you connect with nature and your neighbors! Nature journaling combines observation\, science\, art\, relaxation\, and fun. Learn the basics so you can continue this enriching practice in your own backyard or anywhere in the world. No experience necessary or expected. \nRegistration Fee: $25 includes a nature journal and supplies for the Winter\, Spring\, Summer\, and Fall Workshop (future workshop dates TBD). \n*Please dress for a portion of the workshop to be held outdoors by the lake. \nA world of infinite beauty and discovery waits just beyond the point where we usually stop paying attention. Nature offers us peace\, a rich and meaningful place to learn. There is no computer program that can replicate the richness of seeing a flower up close\, the intrigue of geeking out with bugs\, or the calm of laying on your back and watching clouds. The key to developing a closer connection with nature is deliberately enhancing your powers of observation and wonder. DESCRIPTION:Join in a Village wide clean-up day\, Saturday\, March 11th\, 9-11am. \nSign up for a trail\, a stretch of road\, or other native “catchment” area.    Join with neighbors or family members.   Sign up here  \nTo say thank you\, the Conservancy is hosting a post-event thank you at the Boat House. Join neighbors for farm snacks and beverages.  AND the Farm is donating one dozen eggs to every family that participates!  KT Pizza will also be on site. \nKeeping Willowsford beautiful takes a Village!  Participating in this clean-up day is only one way you can make a difference.  You can help get to the root of the problem every day\, especially on trash day. What happens at end of the driveway\, doesn’t stay at the end of the driveway.  Overflowing trash\, especially loose recyclables\, can become quickly windblown.  Whether it is unsecured\, a result of a tipped can\, or less than tidy collection\, loose items quickly become a community concern independent of property line. \nWhat can be done?  See something\, do something.  Pick it up! \n

Nature journaling combines observation\, science\, art\, relaxation\, and fun. Learn the basics so you can continue this enriching practice in your own backyard or anywhere in the world. No experience necessary or expected. \n*Please dress for a portion of the workshop to be held outdoors by the lake. \nA world of infinite beauty and discovery waits just beyond the point where we usually stop paying attention. Nature offers us peace\, a rich and meaningful place to learn. There is no computer program that can replicate the richness of seeing a flower up close\, the intrigue of geeking out with bugs\, or the calm of laying on your back and watching clouds. The key to developing a closer connection with nature is deliberately enhancing your powers of observation and wonder. Learn how the methods of a field naturalist will help you notice more\, remember what you discovered\, and be actively curious. A nature journal is a lens that focuses our attention and crystalizes our observations\, thoughts\, and experiences. The system is creative\, rigorous\, and playful\, easy to begin and learn\, and will grow and mature over a lifetime.  –John Muir Laws \nThe event costs $25 for first time attendees (which includes a journal) and is free for returning attendees.

Chef-forager Iulian Fortu\, the owner and founder of Arcadia Venture\, walks us through our community trails and will teach you the fundamentals of safe plant identification\, foraging\, and how to store and cook your wild harvest. You will also receive a small gift of wild foods to take home! \nMeet at the Farm Stand in The Grange. Iulian will be guiding participants around the Farm Loop. \n
