Throughout the Conservancy, we have created unique places to enjoy nature up close, to relax, or to rent for events like family or company picnics, birthday parties and campouts. These venues locations are listed below.
With seven large tent pads—each with its own grill, fire pit and picnic table—and ample space for games and activities, this wooded camp site is ideal for family camping, and daytime and overnight group events including picnics and birthday parties. The camp site is easily accessible from the nearby parking area, and is located on the 8-mile Grant Loop hiking trail for nature exploration, walking, trail running and mountain biking.
Scheduled to open in 2018 in The Greens. Surrounded by dense red cedars, this hidden field is an ideal setting for community events, and for large families and other groups to experience camping adventures within the “wilds of Willowsford.”
With a rustic pavilion, group-style fire pits, and space to accommodate tents of any size, Hidden Meadow is well-suited for larger group campouts including family gatherings, cookouts, small concerts, boy scouts and similar gatherings. The site will feature Conservancy programs and events and will be available for rent by residents and resident-sponsored groups.
Scheduled to open in late spring of 2018 in The Greens. The ancient sport of target archery combines skills of strength, precision and consistency, and builds confidence and focus while enjoying the outdoors. The Conservancy is excited to offer residents of all ages an outdoor archery range to practice this popular sport. Planned and designed with members of the Willowsford Archery Club, the range features a rustic pavilion covering the shooting zone, gathering area, picnic tables and storage shed; and 10 lanes with targets at distances from 30’ to 180’. The archery range will serve as a venue for the Willowsford Archery Club. Information on the Archery Club and how to join will be available soon.
Scheduled to open in 2018 in The Greens. The rustic, three-season Cedar Pond Pavilion is nestled in a woodland overlooking scenic Cedar Pond, with easy access to the Bull Run Overlook trail for nature exploration, hiking, mountain biking and other outdoor activities. The beautiful structure was handcrafted in Tennessee from old cedar logs, shipped to Willowsford, and raised on site by the craftsmen who built it.
Stop by when hiking the trail, which passes right by Cedar Pond, and enjoy a picnic on the spacious deck while watching waterfowl, turtles and other wildlife.
The Pavilion will feature Conservancy programs and events and will be available for rent for family and group events by residents and resident-sponsored groups.
